The city of Omaha Vehicle Impound Facility provides for storage and disposal of vehicles towed by order of the Omaha Police Department and the Douglas County Sheriff's Departments. 

After a holding period of no less than 30 days, unclaimed vehicles are offered for auction to the general public. 

Our next auction for vehicles will take place on Saturday, February 15th, 2020.  The next property auction will be on Saturday March 7th 2020.  Click on AUCTIONS below to view the current list.  If you have any questions regarding the upcoming auctions, please consult our auction rules and feel free to contact Impound Lot staff with anything that you may need clarified.

Vehicle Auctions

 

Auctions for the City of Omaha Vehicle Impound Lot are held on Saturdays, however, we do not hold vehicle auctions every Saturday.  The dates of our auctions are determined by our inventory available and our ability to process it.  Auction Dates will be posted on our website as soon as a date has been finalized.

We will post cancellations or changes on this website, and if you are signed up to receive an RSS feed, you will be notified by email when it is updated. Otherwise, please check this website before coming out for updates. 

Approximately 70 to 120 vehicles are auctioned. The vehicles offered range from functional to salvage. 


Vehicles may be viewed on auction day from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Auction will now start at 9 a.m.  Payment for winning bids is now due by 11 a.m.

Buyers of vehicles/equipment will be required to pay a buyer's fee on all purchases greater than $20. The buyer's fee will be the greater of $65.00 or 10% of the winning bid.

The list may not be an accurate reflection of the disposition of the titles, (i.e. Junk, salvage, previous salvage).  The disposition written on the title will be the final arbiter of the sale.
